Built a real-time route optimization web application using Next.js and React.js that calculates fastest alternate routes around traffic disruptions and road closures using custom pathfinding algorithms. Designed geo-spatial computing backend with Python for processing real-time map data and user-drawn polygon disruptions, implementing caching mechanisms for optimized route calculations. Integrated CockroachDB distributed database for high-availability storage of route data, user inputs, and disruption updates with geo-spatial indexing for fast queries.
